Ethan Kai Chiang-Cruise

January 5, 2007 3 comments

Ethan Kai Chiang-Cruise, the son of Wen-Hui (Jeff) Chiang-Cruise and Rodney Chiang-Cruise, was born at 1.15 pm on Wednesday, 3 January 2007 at the Barberton Citizens Hospital in Barberton, Ohio, USA.

Ethan weighed in at 7lb 14.5oz and was 22in in length. His birth was not easy and required a little intervention, but both Ethan and Kelly are fine and healthy.

We have been on an amazing and complex journey to get to this point. It hasn’t always been easy, but as any new parent would agree, in the end it was all worth it. Ethan is our new son, part of our family. A dream come true.

To Kelly, Mike, McKenzie, Nicole, Ethan, Doctor Peter Sutter, and all the wonderful Nursing Staff at Barberton Citizens Hospital you have our thanks and gratitude. Thank you for helping us have a family.

Well folks, the time has come for Ethan to enter the world!! Jeff and I are off to the hospital shortly to check in. Kelly is on her way too. Once settle we will begin the “induction” which we are told could take 8 to 12 hours. We haven’t slept today and we are going in to hospital at 11.30pm!! It will be a very long night but we are ready. Hard to know what else to say except we are excited and ready. More later!

Waiting in Wadsworth, Ohio

January 1, 2007 Leave a comment

Jeff and I have arrived at the Holiday Inn Express in Wadsworth, Ohio. We are now here, settling into our room, checking out the bar fridge (empty!) and generally adjusting to our new setting. Called Kelly to let her know we had arrived, she is clearly very keen to have this baby and get her body back, we cant really argue with that! LOL. We were due to go in and induce on the 3rd however it may now be tomorrow or even tonight!!!!!!!! Well, that news certainly gave both of us a jolt, one of those OMG! moments. Kelly is waiting to see Doctor Sutter who will let her know when to go. Even though we could use a solid nights sleep tonight to catch up on the horrid jet lag, if we do go this evening I am sure the nervous energy will keeps us going. Now, just to sort out all the fucking paperwork!!!!!!! Updates soon.

I should note that it is actually 1 January 2007 here and not 2 January 2007 as stated above (the blog is set to OZ time).
